L'identité et l'histoire récente des Dolganes, un peuple autochtone de l'Arctique russe asiatique, interrogent. Cette recherche tente d'y répondre en s'appuyant sur des données ethnographiques et des données historiques. Elle montre comment l'ethnonyme dolgane disparaît puis revient dans les listes des nationalités officiellement reconnues en URSS. L'abandon puis la reconnaissance résultent de projets politiques et scientifiques différents : simplifier la carte de la diversité ethnique ou distinguer l'ethnonyme en fonction de processus analogues chez plusieurs groupes locaux. La comparaison de discours et de pratiques montre comment les Dolganes se représentent alors en tant que peuple. Or des logiques identitaires interviennent à l'intérieur de cet ensemble. Elles se manifestent dans l'oubli de la langue et dans une réorganisation de l'économie, tout en se transformant au cours d'interactions socioculturelles locales et par des liens de plus en plus étroits avec le monde russe. The identity and recent history of the Dolgans, an indigenous people of the Asian Russian Arctic, pose questions. Based on ethnographic and historical data, this research attempts to answer these questions. It shows how the Dolgan ethnonym disappears and then reappears in the lists of nationalities that are officially recognised in the USSR. The abandonment then the recognition result from different political and scientific projects: simplifying the ethnic diversity map or distinguishing the ethnonym according to similar processes by several local groups. Comparing discourses and practices then shows how the Dolgans represent themselves as a people. To be precise, several logics of identity intervene within the society. They manifest themselves in the forgetting of the language and in a reorganisation of the economy, while being transformed during local socio-cultural interactions and through increasingly close links with the Russian world.
