This collection is one of the oldest continuous French series of works on humanities.

Published since 1869, it now comprises 347 volumes. It reflects the specificity, diversity and high level of erudition of the research and teaching carried out at the Section, by publishing the work of its lecturers in fields as varied as linguistics, ancient Egyptian and Babylonian societies, the Indian world and the textual sources of the medieval West.

This unique publishing heritage bears witness to 145 years of scholarly activity by the Section within the EPHE-PSL .
