Visiting Professors (DEI) at EPHE-PSL

Each year, EPHE-PSL recruits a maximum of 24 guest lecturers (Directeurs d'études invités, DEI), each for a period of one month each: 12 are appointed by the Section of Religious Sciences and 12 by the Section of Historical and Philological Sciences. EPHE-PSL manages the preparation of application files, as well as the procedures for obtaining a scientific visa and hosting.

The conditions of appointment and remuneration for these lecturers are governed by regulatory texts, in particular:

  • Decree No. 91-267 of 6 March 1991 relating to associate or guest lecturers in certain higher education institutions under the supervision of the Minister for Higher Education,
  • Decree No. 2007-772 of 10 May 2007 relating to the remuneration of associate or guest teaching staff in higher education and research establishments under the supervision of the Minister for Higher Education,
  • The 10 May 2007 order issued for the application of the above-mentioned decree no. 2007-772.
