International Students. Visitors (free Movers)
The visiting status (also known as visiting student or free mover) is intended for Master's and PhD students enrolled at a foreign higher education institution who wish to spend a semester or a year at EPHE-PSL without obtaining a degree there.
Prerequisites
- Be enrolled at a foreign higher education institution for the entire duration of the stay and have obtained its agreement to undertake mobility.
- Hold a letter of support from the EPHE-PSL professor who will supervise the stay.
Important notes
Once these conditions have been met, the study stay project must be submitted to the International Relations Department of EPHE-PSL so that an individual hosting agreement can be established.
This contractual document, signed by the student, their home institution, and EPHE-PSL, provides legal support for the mobility and grants the beneficiary status for the duration of the planned study stay.
Nationals of a state that is not a member of the Schengen Area must obtain the necessary documents for entry to and residence in French territory (a visa and a residence permit), and the individual hosting agreement does not replace these.
The student pays the registration fees in force at EPHE-PSL and is issued with a student card.
A learning agreement can be concluded between the home higher education institution and EPHE-PSL to recognise the visiting student's academic achievements.
