Séminaire de Paul Passy à la Sorbonne, dans les locaux de l'EPHE

Research Seminars

The original role of EPHE-PSL was to introduce a unique method of training to the academic world, based on the organization of research seminars and laboratory work.

In keeping with this long tradition, the research seminar at EPHE-PSL, also known as a conférence, remains today a place of scholarship, knowledge sharing, and collegial reflection.

This distinctive pedagogical approach, deeply embedded in the Sections of Historical and Philological Sciences and Religious Studies, represents a cornerstone of EPHE’s academic identity. It reflects the institution’s enduring commitment to excellence by fostering a profound and dynamic integration of teaching and research.

Conférences create a close bond between professors and students, whether they are enrolled in a master's or doctoral program.

Furthermore, the richness of the research content offered by EPHE-PSL is enhanced by opening the conférences to independent auditors.

Attending the conférences means benefiting from high-level instruction delivered by specialists in their field. It's a direct step into the world of research, exploring fields as diverse as the languages and religions of pre-Islamic Central Asia, the great monotheistic religions, Chinese archaeology, Hebrew paleography, Greek dialectology, and digital humanities.

The EPHE-PSL Conférences Program presents this rare and unique offering.
