La notion de l'amour mystique chez Abū Tālib al-Makkī et son rôle central dans son ouvrage : Qūt al-qulūb

Qūt al-qulūb est un ouvrage essentiellement mystique. Il se révèle comme un guide pratique pour l'aspirant vers la perfection de son monothéisme et s'impose comme une œuvre majeure sur la liste des écrits mystiques du Xᵉ siècle, mais autrement. En tant que livre de mu'āmala (pratique mystique) et ṭarīq ilā at-tawhīd (une voie vers l'accomplissement du témoignage de l'Unicité divine), l'ouvrage makkien met au centre de la foi : l'amour. Celui-ci s'y dévoile comme l'alpha et l'oméga du cheminement mystique. Attiré par Dieu, au bout de son expérience, le mystique-amoureux découvre que, dès le commencement, c'est Dieu qui est attiré par lui, qu'Il est l'Amoureux. Paradoxalement, un tel dévoilement ne lui est possible qu'à l'issue de l'anéantissement absolue de son égo.

The notion of mystic love for Abū Tālib al-Makkī and its central role in his work : Qūt al-qulūb

Qūt al-qulūb is essentially mystical. Itreveals itself as handbook for believers on a path towards perfecting their monotheism. It stands out as an opus major from the list of Xth century mystical writings but differs from them. As a work of mu‘āmala (mystical practice) and of ṭarīq ilā at-tawḥīd (way toward the fulfillment of the testimony of divine oneness), the Makkian script places love at the heart of faith. Here, love is unveiled as the alpha and the omega of the mystical journey. Drawn to God, the amorous mystic discovers at the end of their experience that, from the beginning, it was God who was drawn to them. Paradoxically, it is only through the complete annihilation of their ego that they may accede this revelation.
