Institute of Systematics, Evolution, Biodiversity - ISYEB, UMR 7205

The Institute of Systematics, Evolution, Biodiversity is a joint research center (ISYEB, UMR 7205) of the CNRS, the National Museum of Natural History, Sorbonne University, the EPHE-PSL and the University of the Antilles. ISYEB aims to study the origin of biodiversity, diversification processes and the establishment of communities in relation to the evolution of taxa in time and space. The unit is one of the European centers of systematics and contributes significantly to the exploration and description of biodiversity, as well as to its archiving and cataloguing in natural history collections and databases. For several years, ISYEB has also participated in several consortia that aim to produce reference genomes to describe biodiversity at the European scale (ERGA) as well as French marine areas (ATLASea). ISYEB studies the evolutionary processes responsible for taxonomic and phenotypic diversification at micro- and macro-evolutionary scales.
