In the wake of October 7, the destruction of Gaza, and the recently concluded, highly fragile ceasefire; following Donald Trump’s unsuccessful initiatives and France’s purely symbolic recognition of the State of Palestine; and amid the war now ravaging the entire Middle East—what prospects lie ahead for the Israeli and Palestinian peoples? What kind of peace is possible, under what conditions, and on what terms—ones that are both realistic and just?
