Laboratory of Physical Chemistry and Microbiology for Materials and the Environment - LCPME, UMR 7564

The Laboratory of Physical Chemistry and Microbiology for Materials and the Environment (LCPME), a joint research unit of the University of Lorraine and the CNRS (UMR 7564) in association with the École Pratique des Hautes Études, studies the reactivity of solid surfaces—mineral, organo-mineral hybrids, nanomaterials, or biological objects—in aqueous environments. Its research integrates structural and reactive heterogeneities at different scales to shed light on interaction mechanisms and explore applications in the fields of materials and the environment.

The LCPME employs approaches from physical chemistry (spectroscopy, electrochemistry) and microbiology, particularly the study of microbial interfaces and the adhesion of microorganisms.
