Géosciences Montpellier, UMR 5243

Géosciences Montpellier is a joint research unit primarily affiliated with the CNRS and the University of Montpellier, with the University of the Antilles as an associated institution. The laboratory conducts research on Earth system dynamics, surface processes, natural resources, and the environment, with particular attention to interactions among Earth’s major spheres. Its work aims to improve understanding of geodynamic processes across multiple spatial and temporal scales and to contribute to research on natural hazards and resource management, drawing on approaches such as tectonics, geochemistry, geochronology, geophysics, and sedimentology.
