Today, ancient polytheistic religions are the subject of participatory reconstructions that are strictly religious or ideological in nature, particularly observable in the Mediterranean and the Americas.

These movements, often grouped under the term “neo-paganism,” offer an alternative to monotheistic religions and are frequently based on local identity and a symbolic and political attachment to the territory.
