Archéosciences Bordeaux, UMR 6034
The Archéosciences Bordeaux Joint Research Unit (UMR 6034) brings together specialists from diverse fields (archaeometry, physics, chemistry, archaeology, geology, etc.) within a single laboratory, united by a shared focus on ancient materials and materiality. Its research, grounded in archaeological science and heritage studies, adopts an interdisciplinary approach that draws on methods from the physical and natural sciences to identify otherwise imperceptible traces in archaeological materials.
